So, anyone that actually knows a Workman knows that they are not handy. Growing up a Webb, I thought that knowing how to build or fix anything was just a given, but it's not!
A few weekends ago, Parks was procrastinating on a patent application and decided to pull up the black and white linoleum floors in our kitchen. Instead of arguing with him, I just let him do it. I knew he'd have to fix it eventually, so what the heck. He pulled out the linoleum and I even helped him retrieve a few tools here and there. Later that week, I had someone come by to see if we should refinish the floors or if we should just lay laminate. He suggested laminate because of the size & cost. Normally this would be music to my ears, the floors will be fixed inexpensively, until Parks said he would do it himself. OH DEAR!!!
I had my wisdom teeth out on Friday morning & that afternoon Parks made his first trip to Home Depot. He made 4 or 5 more trips throughout the weekend, but he did the floors. I did have to help here and there, but not much. I was shocked. I honestly thought he would quit after 2 boards and just hire someone to do it, but he hung in there and finished the job. Here are some action shots of his project.
