That time of year...

It's almost time to pull out the Christmas decor & rock around the Christmas tree.  I'm so excited I can hardly stand it.  Not so much about Christmas, but more about the tree.  I really love hanging the ornaments & then sitting back and admiring my work.  I ran out to Target yesterday & picked up a few new ornaments.  Nothing fancy, but some that I can let Parks (and may be William) hang without stressing if they break!  I was hoping to get a tree this weekend, but with Thanksgiving, the big football game (Clemson vs. Carolina), a baby shower, & lots of company, I'm just not sure it will happen.  Guess that will have to wait til December!

Thursday we're heading over to Spartanburg to celebrate Thanksgiving with Parks' family-- his mom (Debbie), Rhobie, Gimmie, Alan, Crystal, & William.  For the first time in a few years, Parks is not preparing the turkey.  I'm a little sad about that.  I always enjoyed watching Parks & William attempt to place the turkey into the hot frying oil without getting splashed.  Very amusing!  I haven't had a baked turkey in years, but I'm sure they are good too.  When I think about it, the only one I can picture is the one in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.  Poor Catherine, she really over cooked that bird.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Safe travels to those of you that have to fly/drive to see family & friends.
